Liberty Ross to launch debut fashion collection

Liberty Ross has taken inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford and Alexander McQueen for her first denim collection.

The raven-haired beauty has teamed up with Genetic denim, producing a capsule line of six pieces.

Her first foray into clothes creation includes a jacket, high-waisted skirt, trousers, denim mini dress and two styles of jeans.

”I’ve tried to use the knowledge I’ve learned in fittings with incredible designers like Karl Lagerfeld or Tom Ford. You watch how they work and that’s such a privilege,” Liberty mused to the British edition of Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

”The lines of the jacked I designed were very much inspired by early McQueen.”

The designs have been snapped up by Net-a-Porter and are also available at famous British luxury store Selfridges.

Far from being imagined with only model-like figures in mind Liberty hopes that all women will enjoy her offerings.

Rupert just finalised his divorce to Liberty Ross”I want them to be worn by a broad spectrum of women, they’re made absolutely with that in mind,” she declared. ”All the denim has stretch, I’ve been careful about the pocket placement and the bums have been carefully manipulated.

”No matter what size, you’re going to look hot.”

For the feature, Liberty also posed for a photoshoot wearing her own creations. The 35-year-old star has worked extensively as a model as well as an actress, starring in campaigns for Burberry and Dior.

The new collaboration came about as denim has always been the way she ties her transatlantic style together.

”Basically I wanted to weave my two lives together – I was raised in LA until I was seven, then came back to London and has this amazing career, so I wanted to tie that in with the influences of music, fashion, friends, family,” she explained.
