The army, the Special Forces, let me please explain the army regiments in the Netherlands to give you an idea and to let you form a concept about everything and how it goes;<\/p>\n
First things first , the army service in Netherlands is voluntary, the contracts goes from three years and upwards, of course you should be 18 years to join, it´s divided in four regiments;<\/p>\n
De royaal koninglijk Landmacht; which means the royal army force service.<\/p>\n
De royaal koninglijk Luchtmacht; which means the royal air force service.<\/p>\n
De royaal koninglijk zeemacht; which means the royal Dutch marines service.<\/p>\n
Korps commandotroepen; which means the special forces of the royal Dutch army.<\/p>\n
Of course every regiment has its own divisions, battalions, artilleries, squads and everything that goes with necessity that requires the regiment to use or deploy, every regiment works on its own, all the regiments are retraced back to the defense ministry, cooperate operations between the different regiments are always planed ahead with the heads of every regiments with too much bureaucratic rules that pisses the real soldiers off and keep us cursing those bureaucratic ass holes.<\/p>\n
The day I was supposed to report to duty was one hell of a funny day to me, I didn´t slept that night and my friends were smoking so much weed that I was high as a motherfucker, although I didn´t smoke at that time but I guess their smoke made me high anyway.<\/p>\n
I came to the army base at 07:30, our meeting would start in half an hour, I was tired, sleepy, a bit high and in a real joker mode that would piss anybody off, they started calling our names and handing us the clothes then they lined us up and explained what we will be doing the next two weeks, then they asked if anybody has any questions???<\/p>\n
Me with my stupid stoned head and sleepy eyes tried to pull someone´s leg by asking a funny question;<\/p>\n
Me; excuse me sir I have a question, why everything in here is green?<\/p>\n
Com.; Hassan is your name right, well Hassan everything is green here so we can be camouflaged in the bushes and the enemy does not and can´t see us.<\/p>\n
Me; ok then what kind of clothes you going to put when we are in autumn, what orange clothes, we could as good as use our football team t shirts hahahahaha, I started laughing and everybody followed suit.<\/p>\n
Com.; silence, Hassan is your name huh, I will keep an eye on you, you know what, you stand over there apart from the rest of the group.<\/p>\n
so it started, with a laugh, I maybe was 18 years but I was young dumb and full of cum, and so it kicked off in a training that I would say was hard and tough mentally than it was physically, I am not lying when I say it was really blood, sweat and tears.<\/p>\n
I am not allowed to explain how we trained cause am held under confidentiality contract, so if you have any question guys and girls, take it with me in person and I would be happy to explain.<\/p>\n
The preliminary group was 1500 men and a few women, and after the first two weeks we dropped to 650 only, then we moved to another army base to continue our advanced training.<\/p>\n
We slept in bunkers, every bunker contained 18 persons, it was lights out at 22:00 and then lights on at 05:00, so it went on the first six months, there was a guy in our group who used to call me names and taunt me every now and then, cause I have an Arabic name, so every time they call me he would make fun of my name, until one day we had a training where we should drop to the ground when the commander screams ´´NADE´´(short of grenade),so I dropped next to the fuck face and whispered in his ear intently( listen fuckface if you do that shit again I will tear open your mouth from ear to ear)and I motioned with my fingers on his ears to let him get the idea.<\/p>\n
He nodded in submission, but after a while he did it again, i winked to my buddies to let them know that this guy will have it tonight, and he did.<\/p>\n
At 02:30 17 guys overpowered him and stripped him naked and hanged him upside down on our flag post in the middle of the army base plain, in the morning we have a ritual to go outside and sing our national anthem and raise our flag, but to our commanders surprise, they saw no flag but a butt naked guy hanging upside down with his dick out in the open hanging and dangling with the wind.<\/p>\n
They were furious, and demanded answers from us, we all the 17 guys denied to have anything got to do with this, the commanders warned us and promised us that they would make it extra hard training for us if we didn´t confessed, which we didn´t , and they held their word by putting extra hard measures on us.<\/p>\n
I learned a lot, I studied a lot, and I was somehow to my own surprise good at it, we had the choices to learn and choose to between different languages, and I chose Arabic, some of us chose Croatian, Persian, Russian and even Spanish and Chinese.<\/p>\n
The first year ended with the whole group dropped to 175, 19 of them were women, we learned everything you can imagine, we had many tests in all kinds, but the ultimate test was, I would say it always, is what you have behind your eyes and between your ears(your brain).<\/p>\n
That’s what was tested day and night, it´s not the muscles, not the physical ability that you have or posses, it´s the mental toughness that they are looking for, the quick wit, the alertness, the ability to strategize and use your tactics, the mental power which I came to realize was the most important thing we humans have and posses.<\/p>\n
Your brain is the one who control your muscles, and not the other way around, it´s your brain that makes the decisions and not your muscles, and finally it´s your brain who will decide for you to give up or not.<\/p>\n
