I seem to do all the mistakes that this book like to say ” Buon Compleanno” too. Im gonna have less health, get divorced mostly quickest..even before getting into it(?)! Yeah, because Im too spontaneous? Well, I know at least some people who are gonna live long then… Passione, Kicki, Bjorn, Jorgen – we can call them the ”waiting -people” ! Lucky you guys…
From the book, WAIT – the art and science of delay/ Frank Partnoy
The big idea. Though our hight-speed culture embraces snap judgments, we are better off taking our time. The most successful athlets, comanders, and buisnessmen are ”masters of delay” who take a long as possible to analyze a situation.
Did you know…?
- Exposure to fast-food logos can speed up our behavior and spoil our ability to enjoy looking at photos or listening to music.
- The post-it note was no sudden epiphany-its creators took more than a decade to perfect the adhesive and figure out what to use it for.
- People who place too much value immediate happiness(like me) and too little on the future ( like me) are less healthy, and more likely to divorce.
In his own words. ” The longer we can wait, the better. If we have an hour, we should wait 59minutes before responding. If we have a year, we should wait 364 days. Even if we have just a half second, we should wait as long as we possibly can. Even milliseconds matter ” / – Matt Hudson
