The mid-afternoon slump is a true physiological event. Our bodies are designed to have two sleeps-one long rest at night and one short one during the day, and so its normal to feel a dip after lunch. In this hours your cortisol level drops and along with it possibly your mood, focus and motivation.I read this in a aticle by NHS resarchers at the University of Chigago/ Jim Horne.
Im little jelaous of Leonardo that sets himself so comfortable in the sofa after lunch and sleeps 1hour every working day. He says that his brain need this, and I can agree..he is more calm and ready steady after has slept then if he is only rushing away to his office. Everyone is not so lucky that can go home and sleep.
Some tip is to:
- Stretch out – that increases blood flow to the brain and making us more alert and irons out tensions. A few chest stretches after a couple of hours at your desk will raise oxygen levels in the bloodstream to revive you.
- Ring the changes – Doing things differently, such as eating in another restaurant, eat with new colleagues, go and exercise at lunch.
- Try Maca – also known as the passion plant, is my favourite herb. High in linoleic acid and oleic acid, as well as amino acids, maca contains plant sterols that increase energy, stmina an libido in both men and woman, says my colleague Maxiboy.
I bought Maca in the pharmacy in Florens but you find it in this website www.theorganicpharmacy.com
