Andr\u00e9 Courr\u00e8ges<\/strong>, designer who invented the miniskirt. Born in 1923, southwest of France in a little town named Pau. He started his career in the fashion house Balenciaga before he opened his own Maison Couture in 1961. The most prestigious job was when he 1964 launched his Collection Moon Girl <\/em>which did the PVC stuff and the miniskirt famous. He namely only used the colours white and silver. Especially his PVC – boots went so popular so everyone copied him all over the world. He worked also with Mary Quant. He created fantastic clothes for women in that time being seemed strange with materials like metals and plastic.<\/p>\n

Some call him Le Corbusier <\/strong>( Le Corbusier, was a man famous for being one of the pioneers of what is now called modern\u00a0<\/a>architecture)\u00a0in the fashion industry today.<\/p>\n

Courr\u00e8ges was most popular in the 60s and 70s but you can still find his clothes in very selective stores around the world.<\/p>\n

Look what I found in my closet…. DADADAA daaaa a Courr\u00e8ges jacket from the year 1965. Incredible. I actually is very happy for this jacket because I got it from a lady that had worked as a model in Paris in the 60s. She was so kind so she gaved it to me when I was working at NK in Stockholm in 1999. I remember 2 years later I was in NY with my in that period boyfriend and I stepped into an vintage store. I found exactly the same jacket, same colour and so on but like a vest. The price was chocking 600dollar. For me its only plastic but designed plastic and the colour is just amazing for my eyes.<\/p>\n
