Spel har aldrig riktigt hittat sin plats i kulturdelen av samhället. Det har setts som töntigt och rent av skadligt att spela spel. Spelare har alltid fått försvara sin passion och är idag vana vid att diskutera för sitt spelandet med människor som kritiserar utan någon som helst vetskap av ämnet ifråga. På grund av tumultet under förra året med mordhotelser och trakasserier av feminister och kvinnor inom spelbranschen/spelmedia har spelkulturen aldrig sett svartare ut. Från att porträtteras som den vita, ofarliga och nördiga snubben är nu en spelare sedd som en psykopat också. En mobbare utan empati.
Det här stämmer såklart inte. Det är en viss procent som är vrickade och det är dem som syns och hörs mest. Bakom oljudet hittar man hyvens människor som brinner för en och samma sak…spel.
Igår fick jag ett intressant samtal av en kvinna vid namn Ulla. Hon jobbar i Nyköpings kommunhus. De gjorde nyligen en undersökning bland de som bor i kommunen om vad de sysslar med på fritiden. Hela 25% svarade att de spelade spel. Det här fick de på kommunhuset att reagera. De kände att de måste engagera sig i spelarna på något sätt men hur?
Genom att utbilda sig i ämnet såklart.
Därför ringde Ulla från Nyköping mig igår. Hon vill att jag blir en av de föreläsarna som besöker kommunhuset och håller i dagen som en moderator. En dag då flera från spelvärlden kommer för att berätta om oss. Vilka vi är som spelar, varför vi spelar, hur ser spelkulturen ut idag och vad kan göras bättre. Underbart att Ulla och hennes kollegor ser möjligheterna i spel och konsten i det. Underbart att de vill satsa på spel och bjuda spelarna en plats i samhället genom att göra event, tävlingar, läger och så vidare. Det är ett steg framåt för spelkulturen, att ta bort dem från nätet och låta dem träffas i verkligheten.
Heja Nyköping som satsar så hårt på det här. Blir alldeles varm inombords och det kommer att bli en ära att besöka alla nyfikna på kommunhuset i augusti.
