– Jag växte upp i Köln i Tyskland och min familj hade produktion och global försäljning av naturmedicin. Det var det företaget som tog fram Echinacea på marknaden. Från den tiden har jag fått med mig vetskapen om att naturliga ämnen kan vara otroligt läkande och hjälpsamma. Och det var bland annat där jag fick grunden till mina idéer för hudvård.
Kvalité är king
Martina Richter har en brokig bakgrund från med erfarenhet från modellbranschen, ekonomi, kommunikation, marknadsundersökningar och PR. Några av kunderna var stora internationella koncerner från skönhetsindustrin och Martina fick möjligheten att se vad som egentligen skedde bakom kulisserna i fabrikerna. Hon märkte att det inte gick rätt till med de ämnen som produkterna innehöll och vad de sades uppnå i marknadsföringen. Det kunde bara inte stämma!
–Så jag tänkte ”nu gör vi detta på rätt sätt”. Jag flyttade till Sverige och startade upp SkinPlan. Namnet kom från att det ska vara lätt att förstå. Jag tänkte om jag kan få folk att förstå vad företaget står för med mitt namn så är det perfekt. Lär känna din hud. Ha en plan för din hud!
–Vi har läkemedelskvalité på våra produkter och använder oss av samma råvaruinköp som alla läkemedelstillverkare använder sig av. Hade vi inte haft den höga kvalitén hade inte våra kunder fått de resultat som de får efter tre veckor. Man vinner i längden på att vara ärlig, säger Martina.

–Vårt mätsystem är inget nytt, det har funnits i 25 år och används framförallt för att diagnostisera olika hudsjukdomar. Det finns därför otroligt många vetenskapliga studier som visar att dessa mätinstrument fungerar och vilka ämnen man kan applicera på huden för att siffrorna ska ändras.
– Vi tog denna gamla uppfinning och gjorde om den, förenklade den och gjorde den portabel. Man kan inte förvänta sig att folk kan avsätta en massa tid för att få sin hud mätt, det måste gå snabbt. Generationsskifte

Svårigheter i branschen
–I början när jag lanserade produkten på marknaden blev jag ifrågasatt om jag är hudterapeut eller hudläkare. Men varför ska kvinnor alltid ha en skönhetsutbildning om man ska jobba med skönhet? När det gäller män är det ingen som ifrågasätter dem. Titta bara på bröderna som grundade och driver Oriflame, de är inte utbildade hudterapeuter och det är ingen som ifrågasätter dem. Men är man kvinna blir man ifrågasatt, säger Martina.
– Om jag hade varit hudläkare, biokemist, hudterapeut eller kemist hade det kanske varit enklare för mig. Men nu sysslar jag med kommunikation och istället för att utgå från vad jag TYCKER att folk ska ha så tog jag reda på vad folk vill ha. Och utifrån det så kontaktade jag och arbetade ihop med olika biokemister och hudläkare för att ta fram produkterna. På det sättet har jag fått fram det folk verkligen vill ha, säger Martina.
Vitamin C Booster
– Det var inte lätt att ta fram produkten. Jag visste vad jag ville ha men alla sa till mig att det inte GÅR att stabilisera vitamin C i flytande form. Men jag ville verkligen ha en sådan produkt eftersom jag har gått igenom otaliga studier som visar på att vitamin C är något av det bästa man kan ge sin hud. När vi kom på att kunden faktiskt skulle kunna blanda och göra serumet själv så öppnades en dörr och vi uppfann Vitamin C booster, säger Martina.
– Det är min favoritprodukt just nu. Jag tycker det är så kul att man ser effekt nästan direkt på huden. Och speciellt eftersom jag vet att detta kommer gynna mig otroligt mycket när jag blir äldre. Produkten stimulerar fibroblasterna, huden blir elastisk och så bleker den pigmentfläckar. Man kan inte överanvända det och man kan blanda den i vilken kräm eller serum som helst!
– Du behöver så otroligt lite pulver för att få bra resultat och du kan aldrig överdosera. Den bleker inte en solbränna utan det är snarare ett skydd för huden. Den stärker huden och faktum är att i medelhavsländerna så använder kvinnorna citronsaft som solskydd, säger Martina.
