Varje morgon ser jag massor av mammor springa hurtigt med en barnvagn framför sig. Det har blivit populärt att hålla sig i trim efter barnafödandet. Dom ser inte glada ut, utan snarare stressade. Är det pressen att hålla sig smal och snygg som ligger bakom?

Media har lyckats förmedla ytterligare en trend att man är en lyckad, lycklig och eftertraktad människa om man får tillbaka sin ursprungliga kropp efter bebisen.

Daly Mail visar bilder på kändiskroppar när de sväller upp som gravida mammor och rapporterar sen hur snabbt det gått ner till fina och smala igen. Ett reportage visade nyligen att en gravid kändis hade samma XXS storlek i tajta jeans trots at hon var gravid i 7 månaden. ”Look, aint she gorgeous in her still petite size!” Så sjukt….

En annan kvinna jag känner skröt stolt hos sin gynekolog att hon inte hade gåt upp i vikt trots att hon var i 6 månaden. Läkaren blev vettskrämd och undrade säkert om han skulle kontakta Socialstyrelsen.

 

Enligt en engelsk undersökning från 2010 är kvinnor mer benägna att känna stress än män. Fler kvinnor känner huvudvärk än män (41 procent mot 30 procent), kvinnor känner att dom vill gråta (44 procent mot 15 procent), har en orolig mage (32 procent mot 21 procent). Samma undersökning rapporterade också att kvinnor är mer benägna än män att stressäta (31 procent mot 21 procent).

Om en mamma är stressad så påverkar det också alla i familjen. Gifta kvinnor rapporterade högre nivåer av stress än ensamstående kvinnor, med en tredjedel (33 procent).
