Jag har helt missat att Dr. Brandt är död. Han dog den 5 april och jag minns honom så väl förra året på AMWCs kongressen i Monaco. Jag var där med Daniel Nylén från Improveme.se. Han såg ganska smal och krasslig ut och jag kunde aldrig riktigt definiera hans ålder då han var ganska överbehandlad.
Fred, som han kallades av sina vänner var en pionjär inom anti-ageingindustrin. Han var hudläkare och revolutionerade världen med att var en av de första som arbetade med fillers och Botox.
Tydligen led han av djupa depressioner trots sina kända vänner bland Hollywood-stjänorna som Madonna och Gwyneth Paltrow. Han hittades död i sitt hem, säkert alldeles ensam.
Förr vid 80-talet så injicerade läkare bara i rynkan för att få bort den. Dr. Brandt däremot tittade på ansiktet i sin helhet och kom på att istället lyfta huden och få den spänstig med fillers och Botox. Han injicerade runt rynkan, lyfte och gav volym. Han blev FDAs dvs. den amerikanska läkemedelsmyndighetens expert när nya medicinska teknikerna skulle testas.
På grund av hans kunskaper så döpte tidningen W Magazine honom till ”The Baron of Botox”, botoxbaronen.
Han testade gärna på sig själv. I en intervju berättade han att om han kunde gå tillbaka i tiden, så skulle han använt mindre botox på sig själv. Många undrade om det var därför han begick självmord. Kort innan hans död så visades den nya Netflix-serien Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt en överdrivet opererad platstikkirurg vid namnet Dr. Franff som är lik honom. Tog han illa vid?
Dr. Brandt var även känd för sitt hudvårdsmärke vid samma namn. Produkterna fokuserar på föryngrande hudvård vars resultat ska påminna om det man får efter hans fillers och botoxbehandlingar. Madonna och Gwyneth Paltrow är bara två kändisar i mängden som erkänt att de använder produkterna.
Han dog i Coconut Grove i Miami och hade hängt sig i sitt hem. Polisen misstänker inget brott. Fredric Brandt blev 65 år gammal.’
