Infraröd strålning (IR) kommer från saker som avger värme som tex. en ugn, hårtork, ett element och du gissade rätt … solen. Värmen du känner på huden när du är utomhus och solen skiner är från infraröda strålar. De flesta IR strålarna studsar helt enkelt bort från hudens yta men en del specifikt A strålningen (IRA)-kan tränga sig  igenom huden och nå djupt ner där cellerna bildas. En studie i Journal of Investigative Dermatology beskriver att IRA kan generera fria radikaler som påverkar hudens kollagen, elastin och proteinstrukturer. Det betyder att du kan få fina linjer och torr hud. Oj då!

Mer än hälften av den solenergi som når huden är infraröd men jämfört med UV-strålningen så är IRA mycket svagare.
Det bästa sättet att skydda huden mot IRA är att neutralisera dessa fria radikaler med en antioxidant efter dagens solbad. Glöm bort att köpa ännu dyrare solskydd som påstår att dom skyddar dig mot infraröd strålning.

Vad man kan göra om man vill reparera huden efter uttorkning och fina linjer är att använda en produkt med en hög andel av en potent antioxidant som vitamin C. Många dermatologer föreslår särskilt antioxidant-rika serum. En av de mest potenta är SkinPlans Vitamin C Booster. Den innehåller 98% stabiliserad l-ascorbinsyra.
