Jag tanker ofta på hur få som förstår sig på SPF, dvs. solskyddsfaktorn. Hur den är uttänkt att användas och fungerar.
Det var så länge tillbaka i tiden som 1962 som Franz Greiter tog fram begreppet ”solskyddsfaktor” – SPF – vilket sedermera blev den globala standard man mäter effektiviteten av solskyddsmedel med.
SPF är en faktor med ett nummer som du ska använda för att veta hur länge du kan vistas i solen utan att bränna dig. Först måste du sätta dig i solen utan solskydd och ta tid på hur länge det tar innan du bränner dig. Med den angivna tiden för detta experiment, multiplicerar du minuterna med solskyddsfaktorn, SPF du vill använda.
Exempel: Du bränner dig efter 15 minuter och planerar att använda SPF 10.
15 x 10 = 150
Du kan sola i 150 minuter med SPF 10.
Problemet är att solstyrkan varierar från tid på dagen och platsen så det är inte ett helt säkert skydd. Mycket få gör dessutom detta experiment innan de solar.
Testa SkinPlans Sun Control, den är lättare att använda då vi har en UV sensor på flaskan som mäter solens styrka och en tabell som visar hur länge du kan vara i solen, säkert!
