Bruised

Last night is still a bit of a blur, but in short somebody attacked me when I was walking home from a friends house. He came out of nowhere and tackled me to the ground, but I managed to get up and run away. I fell as I was running and he just laughed at me, but I ran to the main street and got help, went home and spend a few hours dealing with police reports and viewing a suspect.

I’m more than a little shaken but feel very lucky that I got away with only scratches and bruises. My elbow is pretty messed up and my hands and knees hurt real bad too, so I’m in bed trying to take it easy and recover.  In hindsight I should have taken a busier street being a small girl walking home in the dark, but it’s not like you think something like this is really going to happen to you. Either way, I’ll be getting myself pepper spray and taking serious precautions from now on. Ugh.. I’ll have nightmares about that laugh for the rest of forever. So fucking scary.

  1. Usch!! Så läskigt… Liknande hände mig på Oslos gator för ett par år sedan, känner med dig. Skickar massa styrkekramar! <3

  2. Dreadful! I hope you make a good recovery from your physical injuries & also from the psychological point of view. I also hope you managed to get enough of a look at him to be able to adequately identify him – so you can pursue him through the court/legal system & have him sent to prison – where he deserves to be. Perhaps you might also consider taking some sort of self-defence classes. Whilst I’ve never been in that situation like yourself, I did take up (Wing Chun style) Kung Fu, about 3.5 years ago – mainly to keep physically fit & active. However, I also really enjoy the classes (2 nights per week) & have learnt some extremely useful self-defence techniques that don’t require a lot of strength or power (handy for women especially, though the class is mostly guys – so I get to practise on them!). Fortunately, I’ve never needed to use these skills in a ”real” situation – even though I’ve always done a lot of walking around my local suburb & in the city, including at night time.

  3. Ouch, that looks painful. Glad you got away. Hope they catch this awful man… stay strong girl ;-)
