På den iranska landsbygden lever de alla under samma tak i ett hus som sjuder av sex, kärlek och ständiga dispyter. De fyra fruarna är varandras rivaler men samtidigt är det just hos varandra de får tröst. Dessutom hotar mannen med att ta sig en femte fru.
