Längtan

Vi har börjat att förbereda huset för lite adventsbelysning och Jimmy pyntar som sjutton. Fick en rolig bild i huvudet när han höll på, när ett päron till farsa ska tända julbelysningen och det absolut inte funkar. Skrattde gott för mig själv… bäst att inte göra Jimmy besviken att det faktiskt kan hända att en lampa är trasig och gör så att hela slingan är svart… sssccchyyy…

Skämt å sido, så tycker jag att det ska bli väldigt mysigt med advent. Man får ställa fram lite stjärnor och lampor inomhus, låta det lysa upp lite i vinterns mörker.

Varför firar vi advent i Sverige, det får ni svar på här:

Advent kommer av latinets adventus (Domini) som betyder (Herrens) ankomst och är den inledande perioden i det västerländska kyrkoåret.

Advent inleds fjärde söndagen före jul och varar till och med julafton. De fyra söndagarna fram till jul benämns vardagligt första, andra, tredje och fjärde advent, eller mera korrekt första, andra, tredje och fjärde söndagen i advent. När juldagen infaller på en söndag, blir adventstiden lång jämfört med om juldagen infaller en måndag. Tiden fram till julafton räknas ned på olika sätt beroende på tradition. På norra halvklotet är det årets mörkaste tid och många hem rymmer under den här tiden en adventsljusstake med fyra ljus, där ett ljus tänds för varje söndag i advent som passerats. En annan nedräkning, populär bland barn, är adventskalendern. Advent blandas i dessa sammanhang ofta ihop med tiden 1–24 december.

Som förebud inför julen hänger många adventsstjärnor i sina fönster.

Nuförtiden lyser adventsstjärnor i nästan varje fönster under adventsperioden i december. Denna sed är dock inte gammal; någon gång under 1880-talet hängdes den första adventsstjärnan upp i Tyskland. Det tog cirka 50 år för traditionen att nå Sverige. Nuförtiden är de flesta adventsstjärnorna elektriskt upplysta.

Stjärnan symboliserar Betlehems stjärna, den stjärna som visade vägen för de österländska stjärntydarna (de tre vise männen) till det nyfödda barnet Jesus, i ett stalls krubba. I dag används stjärnorna för att sprida julstämning och längtan till julen.
