Jag blir arg över att det finns så trångsynta och envisa föräldrar som inte tänker på sina barns bästa och som ständigt kontrollerar. Förr trodde jag att det endast skedde i vissa muslimska familjer där man håller starkt i traditioner osv men vad jag har haft fel! Föräldrar som kontrollerar sina barn finns inom alla religioner och kulturer. Visst, jag kanske har varit naiv men idag vet jag att det inte handlar om religion eller ursprung. Det handlar om kultur och sättet föräldrarna är uppväxta på. Jag har på senare tid träffar unga tjejer som man aldrig skulle kunna tro har det tufft hemma. Tjejer som ger bilden av att de har friheten att göra precis vad de vill. Men så är det absolut inte! Så jag ställer mig frågan, varför? Varför kan inte föräldrarna låta barnen utvecklas, träffa nya människor och ta egna beslut? Det finns otroligt fina föräldrar som tänker på barnens bästa och låter barnen växa och utvecklas till starka individer men tyvärr finns det lika många föräldrar som bara förstör för sina barn.
När jag talar om frihet menar jag friheten att utvecklas som människa och följa sina drömmar. Och vi människor utvecklas på olika sätt. Att sitta hemma hela dagarna för att föräldrarna inte vill att de ska gå ut för mycket det bidrar inte till en positiv utveckling. Det bidrar inte till att barnen får en stark självkänsla. De blir bara osäkra.
En resa utomlands är inte endast en trevlig resa. Du lär dig otroligt mycket om dig själv och de du reser med. Att gå och och käka middag med dina vänner är inte endast en middag, du får lära dig otroligt mycket om din omgivning. Det jag menar är att såna småsaker som föräldrar oftast hindrar sina döttrar att göra är väldigt viktigt. Alla möten, alla resor och alla chanser att få utvecklas som person är viktiga!
Unga tjejer måste börja tro på sig själva.
Gör det du är bäst på! Så länge du tror på dig själv och vet vad du vill och vad du kan, så kan ingen stoppa dig. Ens inte dina föräldrar. Tro på dig själv för det är vägen till frihet.
