Ikväll fick jag uppleva en liten del av New York under en After Work på nya Kitchen & Table.
Det var vår svenska, världskända kock Marcus Samuelsson som bjöd in till Clarion Hotel Amarenten, på Kungsholmen i Stockholm.
Hittills har han öppnat ett flertal restaurangen i Norden men det här var den först kvarterskrogen, berättade han. Jag träffade även deras nya sous chef Adam Lhafiane, som satt bredvid mig. Han hade jobbat fyra och en halv vecka non stop och det här var nu hans första lediga dag. Väl förtjänt, då han hade varit med om en rysare häromdagen. Han fick besked om att Bill Clinton och Tony Blair skulle komma på middag. Båda var i Stockholm med en stor skara säkerhetsvakter från USA och England. Adam förberedde middagen med bland annat entrecote för nitton personer. Allt stämde och maten gick ut, perfekt tajmat. Men då dyker servitörerna upp igen och frågade ” Var är maten för huvudgästerna?” Allt hade först gått ut till alla secret service män! Huvudgästerna satt fortfarande och väntade. Adam visste att nu måste han hålla huvudet kallt och lösa problemet, snabbt. Ut till frysrummet fram med nya entrecotes och grilla…krydda, dekorera, voilá!
Det gick bra, han fick ut maten i rätt tid. Ingen märkte något!
